United Bible Missionary Church History |
|
Our church was organized on March 1, 1973 under the leadership of Reverends Joe and A.S. Yancy. Services were held in the basement and the first floor of 680 Wilson Avenue. The church experienced rapid growth of members from various backgrounds. As a result, the church was named, "United Bible Missionary Baptist Church of Interdenominational Faith."
On July 22, 1973 the church moved to Oak Street in Columbus due to increase in membership. While on Oak Street, the church fed 40 to 150 youths each day through a free breakfast and lunch program. The church was also a C.E.T.A. work-site for youth and distributed government commodities to the community. Within an eleven year period, God richly and abundantly blessed us to convert many souls to Christ and purchase several property lots on Livingston Avenue and then to move to Livingston Avenue in 1985.
In October 1999, the church moved to its present location at 3480 Winchester Pike and 3090 Courtright Road. We currently have a ministerial staff, several organizations, praise and dance teams.
